Sokito x B.93 - a groundbreaking sustainability partnership

We’ve created a new type of partnership; a collaboration that goes beyond the conventional. A challenge to how brands can make a purpose driven impact that adds value to their partners without sacrificing creativity and fan engagement.


Copenhagen’s Boldklubben af 1893 (B.93) is one of Europe’s most progressive and creative football clubs. Based at the iconic Østerbro stadium, B.93 has cultivated a reputation for independent thinking and the unconventional. 


From introducing paternity leave for players to runways on the club’s athletics track during Copenhagen Fashion Week, B.93 isn't afraid to do things differently. Their ethics and ethos really resonate with us and that’s why we’ve pledged to lend our resources, energy and expertise to support B.93’s sustainability work and circularity projects.


What does this mean?

Firstly, we will help them to implement the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) framework to enhance the club’s environmental performance and improve resource management. Over 4100* organisations are EMAS-registered across Europe, including football clubs Malmo FF, Porto and Real Betis. 


Our plan is to make B.93 the latest club to introduce the framework to manage and improve its environmental performance. The EMAS framework will be applied to 3 sites including the stadium, club offices and training ground.


A lot of this work will be data driven and done behind the scenes but there are plans to collaborate on projects that embrace circularity and creativity.


The partnership will explore different applications for waste generated by the club, surrounding businesses and look at ways to involve fans in some sustainability projects. Watch this space......
